Summer Recycling with Bryson

We might be in holiday mode during the summer months but that doesn’t mean we should take a break from recycling. If you live in Donegal or are visiting the county on holiday this summer you can take your household recycling to one of Bryson’s six recycling centres, located at Letterkenny, Stranorlar, Milford, Carndonnagh, Laghey and Dungloe. A wide range of items are collected for recycling at each of these sites as well as household and garden waste. Save money and cut down on waste this summer by following our top tips:

Clever camping – re-use probiotic yoghurt drink bottles when camping. Fill one with washing up liquid, another with cooking oil, shower gel – the list goes on. Many campsites now have recycling bins so remember to use them.

Greener barbecues – if you are having a barbecue make sure you recycle all your glass bottles and jars, cans and plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays. Avoid disposable plates and cutlery and only cook enough food for the number of people attending.

Perfect picnic – when going for a picnic prepare food at home and choosing loose fruit and vegetables rather than buying food in disposable packaging, and pack food in re-usable containers. Dispose of any waste responsibly and bring your recycling home with you.

The charge for recycling is €1 per bag or €4 per carload, with many items accepted for free.  Garden waste for is accepted at each site at €2 per bag and household waste at €4 per bag weighing up to 10kg.

Bryson Recycling is part of the Bryson Charitable Group, the leading social enterprise in the North.
