Minister of State for EU visits Bryson Intercultural

Bryson Intercultural was delighted to welcome the Minister of State for EU Helen McEntee to Bryson House in Belfast during September 2018.

The Minister was visiting Northern Ireland to find out more about the EU Peace IV funded projects that are currently operational here.

Bryson Intercultural is the lead organisation in partnership with TIDES Training & Consultancy in the regional and cross-border PEACE IV project DARE to Lead Change (Dialogues about Race and Ethnicity). This visit provided a great opportunity to highlight the outcomes of the project to date, which includes:

  • recruiting and training Community Champions from Black and Minority Ethnic Groups;
  • delivering training to people in local communities on Good Relations and Civic Leadership;
  • to strategic engagement with local organisations through meetings, events and presentations.

The meeting also provided a great opportunity for the staff, Community Hosts and Community Champions from the Vine Centre, Black and Minority Ethnic Community, Victims and Survivors Trust, Hope House and Bryson An Munia Tober to meet with the Minister, staff and Special EU Programmes Body representatives to share their stories and experiences.

DARE to Lead Change is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Match funding for the project has been provided by the Northern Ireland Executive and the Department of Rural and Community Development in Ireland.
