Celebration Lunch for Volunteers at Bryson Group

To mark International Volunteer Week 2017, Bryson invited a number of their volunteers currently taking part in the European Voluntary Scheme to a celebration lunch.  The lunch was held in Bryson House, Board Room.

A big thank you to George Lyttle from  Belfast City Council Waste Department who kindly spoke about his recent experience of visiting Kenya along with Trocaire.  The five day trip involved Geoge finding out about the work of Trocaire and how they are supporting the most vulnerable in Kenyan society.  George experienced first hand life in the slums and how millions of people are living everyday without fresh running water and no access to electricity. George saw how they cope with life in these conditions and visited local schools. He found that simple interventions had a massive impact on peoples' lives such as creating access to fresh water allowed people to grow their own food and support their families.
