Bryson Recycling Big Spring Clean

Whitehouse Lagoon in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council received a Big Spring Clean from Bryson Recycling today (24th April 2018).

The Big Spring clean is Northern Ireland’s biggest volunteer clean up. It is organised each April by Live Here Love Here and supports community clean ups by individuals, schools, community groups and businesses wishing to rid their local areas of litter. In spring 2017, 111,000 volunteers got involved in clean ups across Northern Ireland removing an amazing 141 tonnes of litter (the equivalent to 77 family cars).

Claire McCallum, Communications Manager at Bryson Recycling said:

“We were keen to get involved in the Big Spring Clean Initiative this year to do our bit for the environment and help keep the local area clean and litter free. During our clean-up we collected 7 bags of rubbish, which included a lot of single use plastic such as straws and cotton buds”.
